Citizenship in the World MB & Music MB

Posted on Sep 15 2017 - 8:02am

The Citizenship in the World merit badge (Eagle required) will be offered by Mr. Moorefield beginning in October. Sign up at Tuesday's meeting. Mr. Tatman and Mrs. Moorefield will begin the Music merit badge during Tuesday's meeting. This is a great merit badge for scouts in band, orchestra or chorus.

Scuba Course Offering

SCUBA Course

Here is how this is going to work.
On Tuesday the 22nd of August if you are going to participate in the course you will bring a check or cash for $340, or $150, or $100 depending on which category you fall in.  Make the check payable to Steven Taber (I will deal with our instructor rather than have 15 different checks, he will get one).  If you do not bring check or money then you will not be in this course.  We are already at the end of the season for getting this accomplished before the water is too cold.  If more people are interested we can do this again in April/May.

The cost by category is as follows:
All Scouts: $110 for the course, $40 for the quarry dives (5 dives, two days) $150 total
All NON-Scouts $300 for the course, $40 for the quarry dives (5 dives, two days) $340 total
Anyone with Online Academics completed, must have certificate and contact information for their instructor. $60 for the course, $40 for the quarry dives (5 dives, two days) $100 total.

I will give the names and the money to the instructor on Wednesday the 23rd.  He will order the material, and with some luck we should have everything by the weekend.

I will set our classroom up for any time after 5P.M. on weekdays, and anytime during the weekend.  This will put all of us in one room to accomplish the online training together so that we can all start the pool work as soon as possible.  As a group come up with a time that works and go from there.

Scuba Course Offering

Update on Scuba---a friend of Steve Tabor is willing to certify scouts and leaders in scouts for $110 per person.

We need to get moving on this asap though in order to get the Scouts in the pool and quarry before it gets too cool for diving.
